TOUR-WORKSHOP FOR NURSERY SCHOOL AND PRIMARY EDUCATION:

Read me a story

The tour teaches the class in a fun way what the Red de Bibliotecas Públicas de Andalucía (Andalusian Public Library Network) offers, specially from our Biblioteca Pública del Estado-Biblioteca Provincial de Málaga (State Public Library-Provincial Library of Malaga).

We think that the best way to learn is to have fun with it, so we designed a school tour-workshop called Read me a story which is done in a fun and participative way.

The tour will be fundamentally based on dummies that speak to the children: Leo (the child) will explain them everything about the children¿s room and the library card, he will talk to them about reading and he will read them a story. The Quintuplets will explain the layout of the room and the colours chosen to differentiate each section. At the farewell party, Leo (the unicorn) will tell them the secret of the library and she will sing to them.

The workshop part will be focused on decorating, colouring, and starting a storybook.

Duration (approximately): 1.30 hours

Number of members: between 10 and 28

Timetable and days: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 10.30

SCHOOL VISIT FOR HIGH SCHOOL:

The magic of the library

The tour teaches the class in a fun way what the Andalusian Public Library Network offers, specially from our State Public Library-Provincial Library of Malaga.

We think that the best way to learn is to have fun with it, so we designed a school visit called The magic of the library which is carried out in a playful and participative way and includes illusionist effects throughout the explanations. If the students have enough imagination, they will even hear a unicorn speak. Or does this only happen in books?

What the visit is about:

We visit the building to see the spatial arrangement of each of the services we offer, and we meet in the Auditorium, where we discuss in detail the variety of material we house and how the services of loan, refunds, reservations, renovations, internet access, Wi-Fi, reading and study work.

We explain them how the library card works. It is free for the entire Andalusian Public Library Network and gives direct access to all services. When an appointment is requested, we will send a file with the application form for the card so that it can be picked up directly at the end of the visit.

We see the Online Catalogue together and explain them how to use it. Moreover, we carry out participative dynamics that include some short reading and the location of the material from the Library and the Network.

In the Children¿s and Young People¿s Room, we do a real practice through which the students will locate on the shelves the books seen before in the catalogue.

We hope that they will establish an exciting relationship with reading and will take home the magic of the library.

Duration (approximately): 1.30 hours

Number of members: between 10 and 28

Timetable and days: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 10.30

GROUP VISIT:

If I read it, I see it

During the visit, we will show the class, in an enjoyable way, what the Andalusian Public Library Network has to offer, specifically from our State Public Library-Provincial Library of Malaga.

We think that the best way to learn is to have fun with it, so we designed a tour called If I read it, I see it which is done in a fun and participative way. It includes some surprises along the explanations.

What the visit is about:

We take you on a tour around the building to see the spatial arrangement of each of the services we offer, starting with the library depository, followed by the second floor and each one of its rooms. On the third floor, we meet in the Auditorium where we discuss in detail the variety of material we house and how the services of loan, refunds, reservations, renovations, internet access, Wi-Fi, reading and study work.

We explain them how the library card works. It is free for the entire Andalusian Public Library Network and gives direct access to all services. When an appointment is requested, we will send a file with the application form for the card so that it can be picked up directly at the end of the visit.

We carry out participative dynamics to search on the Andalusian Public Library Network Catalogue for the location of materials in the Library and the Network.

To conclude, we have a spectacular surprise presentation.

Duration (approximately): 1 hour

Number of members: between 10 and 25
